Account: Connect
Tip 1: Use the full email address
In the “username” field try entering the full email address. For example, if your email is john.smith@networld.com, instead of entering john.smith as the username, try entering john.smith@networld.com.
Note: This is necessary when a single mail server hosts multiple domains.
Tip 2: Try entering the account as: “Type -> Other -> IMAP” or else “Type -> Other -> POP3”
Sometimes our baked-in settings are not correct for your account. It can happen because either the provider has changed the settings and we have not updated our code, or some providers have complex product offerings with multiple different settings.
Tip 3: Look in the advanced settings
If you are getting a certificate error or other technical error then please take a look at the advanced settings. The advanced settings are accessible from the standard Android overflow menu (the 3 dots in the top right-hand corner).
Tip 4: How do I get Microsoft MFA (Multi Factor Authentication) working?
You must use IMAP and create an app specific password:
Other emails requiring MFA should provide a similar service. For example, GMail also supports app specific passwords.
Tip 5: What about GMail options?
Please read this: GMail Connection Options (file:///android_asset/gmail_help_2025.html)
